Finally, after so many delays, I started teaching the science quiz team today. I was kind of pissed the day before because I couldn’t get through the phone to confirm the timing today should there be any lessons, only to receive an sms this morning that lessons would start at 2pm. At least this means not having any more delays, and I’m finally earning some money again.

Having only recieved confirmation this morning, I didn’t have much time to prepare my lesson at all, but somehow I managed in the end. Well since we did bio today it wasn’t that big of a problem to me, but when it comes to chemistry and physics, I’m not too sure as to how I’m going to explain some things. =/ It’s nice to see that the students were generally enthusiastic about the whole thing though, and I hope it’ll last. 3 lessons next week, and I hope they’ll all go smoothly.

Miss Aw messaged me in the afternoon to ask if I was interested in relief teaching for Chemistry back in NJ. But I already promised boy that I would help up his school’s science quiz team, which would take up 2 days a week, and I think I’ll like that more. The pay would be better than what I have now, but I kind of don’t feel like stepping back in NJ to teach… plus it would be teaching JC students to. It’s quite scary to have to face a class of so many people and teach formally when your concepts aren’t all that good in the first place. Imagine having mugged through your notes for 2 years, only to refer to smiliar ones your students use to teach them. I think it’s so weird. But maybe it’s just me.

I hope I can get the confirmation of the other job soon, and find something that I can do for the remaining 3 days if it’s confirmed. Maybe I’ll teach tuition or something, because I have no idea what other kind of job lets me work for 3 days a week.

Edit: I got a reply from Miss Aw, and she said that if I’m really interested she can arrange for my assignments to be on my free days. Now what? It’s making me waver on my decision, because if I accept this I won’t need to find another job… but then this one will last me all the way till june I guess…
