what were they thinking?!

Arrgh! Why Trenyce?! I feel so upset… Ruben most certainly didn’t deserve to be in the bottom 2, and Trencye didn’t deserve to go. I totally expected Trencye and Joshua to be in the bottom 2 and Joshua being kicked off; it’s so obvious he’s way below par compared to the rest. You could see the shocked looks of the judges when the bottom 2 were announced, and it was obvious that Joshua knew he whould have been the one down there. America what were you thinking?! Those of you who voted for Joshua… can’t you tell he’s bad?! This is a talent show and not vote-for-the-marine-simply-because-he-fights-for-the-country thing! Arrgh… this is totally unfair. I really hope Trenyce makes it big one day… I liked her, Ruben, Clay and Kim L… *sniff*

Some may argue that Ruben sounds to common and boring, but hey at least he sings in tune and sounds good! Trencye sounds bad when she screeches, but when she’s in tune and in range she’s good, he stage presence is a plus. Joshua… boring, pitchy most of the time… bleh. First it was Kim C being voted of before Carmen who obviously sounds much worse and now Trenyce instead of Joshua. Pfft.

On the happier note Clay sounded really great today in both his renditions. “Solitare” really moved me. Clay just stood there singing, no movement no nothing, but the sound was just so powerful and moving. I love Clay’s voice so much! Clay or Kim L should win this.

Carmen must go!

Just finished watching American Idol, Carmen really shoould have gone home instead of Kimberly. At least Kimberly sounds better and has confidence, Carmen at best sounds average. And she goes out of pitch every so often…

Loved Clay’s performance tonight, he’s proved that he doesn’t only sing slow songs well. If only he’d move even more, that would be great. He’s improving on that though. :) Ruben’s great as usual, I love his rich voice! Kimberly Locke did extremely well tonight, and the judges positive comments were a great help in ensuring her stay for another week. She’s too underrated, I guess mainly because of her looks. But she has the voice! Hopfully tonight’s performance will improve the impression that others have on her.

Carmen must go next week.

Heal The World

There’s A Place In
Your Heart
And I Know That It Is Love
And This Place Could
Be Much
Brighter Than Tomorrow
And If You Really Try
You’ll Find There’s No Need
To Cry
In This Place You’ll Feel
There’s No Hurt Or Sorrow
There Are Ways
To Get There
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Little Space
Make A Better Place…

Chorus:
Heal The World
Make It A Better Place
For You And For Me
And The Entire Human Race
There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me

If You Want To Know Why
There’s A Love That
Cannot Lie
Love Is Strong
It Only Cares For
Joyful Giving
If We Try
We Shall See
In This Bliss
We Cannot Feel
Fear Or Dread
We Stop Existing And
Start Living

Then It Feels That Always
Love’s Enough For
Us Growing
So Make A Better World
Make A Better World…

[Chorus]

And The Dream We Were
Conceived In
Will Reveal A Joyful Face
And The World We
Once Believed In
Will Shine Again In Grace
Then Why Do We Keep

Strangling Life
Wound This Earth
Crucify Its Soul

Though It’s Plain To See
This World Is Heavenly
Be God’s Glow

We Could Fly So High
Let Our Spirits Never Die
In My Heart
I Feel You Are All
My Brothers
Create A World With
No Fear
Together We’ll Cry
Happy Tears
See The Nations Turn
Their Swords
Into Plowshares

We Could Really Get There
If You Cared Enough

For The Living
Make A Little Space
To Make A Better Place…

Once upon a December

Posted in Music

Dancing bears,
Painted wings
Things I almost remember
And a song someone sings
Once upon a December

Someone holds me safe and warm
Horses prance through a silver storm
Figures dancing gracefully
Across my memory…

Far away, long ago
Glowing dim as an ember,
Things my heart used to know,
Things it yearns to remember…

Someone holds me safe and warm
Horses prance through a silver storm
Figures dancing gracefully
Across my memory…

Far away, long ago
Glowing dim as an ember,
Things my heart used to know,
Things it yearns to remember…

And a song someone sings
Once upon a December

through heaven’s eyes

Posted in Music

A single thread in a tapestry
Through its color brightly shine
Can never see its purpose
In the pattern of the grand design

And the stone that sits on the very top
Of the mountain’s mighty face
Does it think it’s more important
Than the stones that form the base?

So how can you see what your life is worth
Or where your value lies?
You can never see through the eyes of man
You must look at your life

Look at your life through heaven’s eyes

A lake of gold in the desert sand
Is less than a cool fresh spring
And to one lost sheep, a shepherd boy
Is greater than the richest king
If a man lose everything he owns
Has he truly lost his worth?
Or is it the beginning
Of a new and brighter birth?

So how do you measure the worth of a man
In wealth or strength or size?
In how much he gained or how much he gave?
The answer will come
The answer will come to him who tries
To look at his life through heaven’s eyes

And that’s why we share all we have with you
Though there’s little to be found
When all you’ve got is nothing
There’s a lot to go around

No life can escape being blown about
By the winds of change and chance
And though you never know all the steps
You must learn to join the dance
You must learn to join the dance

So how do you judge what a man is worth
By what he builds or buys?
You can never see with your eyes on earth
Look through heaven’s eyes
Look at your life
Look at your life
Look at your life through heaven’s eyes

Through Heaven’s Eyes
From Prince of Egypt Soundtrack

They were showing The Prince of Egypt on TV earlier on, and this song they played just got me thinking. Many times I have wondered, what’s my life all about? What am I doing here? But this song just reminds me that God has a plan for all our lives, but we can never understand His plan for us fully. No matter how insignificant we think we are, we are all part of a great plan – God’s plan.
