To Japan and back!
Just came back from a week-long trip to Hokkaido, and I really enjoyed myself there!
I’ve always wanted to visit Japan, and this trip just left me wanting more.
What I find really fascinating about Japan, is how the old and the new, the traditional and the modern, can integrate so well with each other, and give rise to an interesting culture. There’s a lovely charm to the country, something which I cannot fully describe in words.
I enjoy experiencing new cultures and taking in new sights, but it does take me a while to get accustomed to being in a different country whenever I travel. Sometimes, while I enjoy being there, I can’t hep but feel really foreign and out of place. It wasn’t the case in Japan though, despite obviously not being from there. There’s a strange sense of comfort in being there, even though this is my first time stepping foot in the country. Perhaps this has something to do with Japan being a safe and clean country, and you don’t really have to worry too much when you’re there. Or perhaps I’ve watched too many Japanese dramas? I would really love to visit the country again and again (though somewhere else this time), just to be able to taste a bit more about how life is there.
I’m sorting through the photos now (there’s more than a thousand of them!), and I’ll post more about the trip little by little after this.
